APRIL 2026
The Nordic Council of Ministers’ Fisheries Cooperation has granted 2.773.256DKK to four new projects.
The grants have been decided based on the two themes in the 2026 call.
4 applications were submitted before the application deadline on 9 February 2026.
The project applications were evaluated by the Fisheries Cooperation’s professional working group AG-Fisk and decided by the civil servant committee EK-FJLS (Fisheries and Aquaculture).
EK-FJLS (Fisheries and Aquaculture) made the decision based on professional evaluation and the strategic priorities in the call.
The funded projects in the March 2026 call are:
Call theme 2: Coexistence and spatial planning:
Innovative concept for knowledge development by releasing and rearing European lobster fry in designated marine areas
Project leader: Ivar Lund, DTU Aqua
Collaboration between DTU-Aqua; Nordsøen Oceanarium; Port of Hirtshals; Gjøsund hamn; Norwegian Lobster Farm (A/S); Sjøfartsmuseet Akvariet; The Maritime Museum and Aquarium, Gothenburg.
Grant: 900.000DKK.
Transforming Nordic Ocean Spaces with Skills and Solutions for Sustainable Coexistence
Project leader: Dorothy J. Dankle, Nordisk Marin TånkeTank
Collaboration between SINTEF Ocean; cCHANGE & Uppsala University; AgriFood Economics Centre, SLU; University of Copenhagen; Nordic Marine Think Tank (NMTT); Municipality of Bolungarvík, Iceland; Government of Greenland including Regional authorities and community actors contributing to the Greenland case.

The grants have been decided on the basis of three themes in the 2025 call.
19 applications were submitted before the application deadline of 3 October 2025.
The project applications were evaluated by the Fisheries Cooperation’s professional working group AG-Fisk and decided by the civil servant committee EK-FJLS (Fisheries and Aquaculture).
EK-FJLS (Fisheries and Aquaculture) made the decision on the basis of professional evaluation and a clear prioritization in relation to the available funds and the strategic priorities in the call.
