The Nordic Council of Ministers’ Fisheries Cooperation has granted DKK 3.8 million to four new projects.
The grants have been decided on the basis of three themes in the 2025 call.
19 applications were submitted before the application deadline of 3 October 2025.
The project applications were evaluated by the Fisheries Cooperation’s professional working group AG-Fisk and decided by the civil servant committee EK-FJLS (Fisheries and Aquaculture).
EK-FJLS (Fisheries and Aquaculture) made the decision on the basis of professional evaluation and a clear prioritization in relation to the available funds and the strategic priorities in the call.

Call theme: 3: Ecosystem-based marine management and stock recovery:
NordiCoast – Establishing a baseline on coastal fish biodiversity in the North Atlantic
Project leader: Ása Johannesen, Firum, Faroe Islands
Collaboration between Havstovan, Tari, SAMS, Hafró
Grant: 950,000 DKK
Marine mammals and fisheries in the Nordic
Project leader: Jónas R. Viðarsson, Matís, Iceland
Collaboration between Matís, Marine & Freshwater Research Institute, Havstovan, DTU- Aqua, Institute of Marine Research, Pelagic Fish Forum, Síldarvinnslan, Memorial University of Newfoundland.
Grant: DKK 950,000.
Implementing an Integrated Ecosystem Approach (IEA) for the sustainable management of the Icelandic Waters ecoregion
Project leader: Warsha Singh, Marine & Freshwater Research Institute, Iceland
